An antique embossed metal and wood lined trinket box featuring hinged lid with a relief scene of a young golfer with their dog.
The sides are decorated with an embossed floral daisy band. The bottom exterior features a grid or lattice pattern stamped with floral motifs and the word "FOREIGN" enclosed in a small cartouche at the lower edge.
Circa 1920s – 1930s (Art Deco / Interwar period). The "Foreign" stamp was widely mandated in the UK following the McKinley Tariff / Merchandise Marks legislation updates around the 1890s–1920s for imported metalwares.
