A right-handed hickory shafted Tom Stewart Mashie, a "Special" model made for professional Allan Gow of Royal Knocke Golf Club, Belgium. Dating circa 1925.
Tom Stewart (1862–1933) of St Andrews is arguably the most famous "cleekmaker" (iron head maker) in golf history. His "Pipe" mark—the clay pipe stamped on the back of the head—is a hallmark of quality. Allan Gow was a Scottish professional who served at the Royal Knocke Golf Club in Belgium in the late1920's.
