Tom Stewart Mid Iron Special c.1915
£55.00
A right handed hickory shafted Mid-Iron "Special" from circa 1915, stamped with the Pipe cleek mark, the hallmark of the most famous club maker, Tom Stewart of St Andrews.
It features a "Waffle" or "Checked" face pattern (a series of small squares). This style became popular in the 1910s and early 1920s to help impart more backspin on the ball compared to earlier smooth-faced clubs.
The head is rusted, however in good overall condition. Shaft is straight and the leather grip is in good condition.
Length - approx. 38.5"
