A Right-Handed flanged-back putter from circa 1910-1915, with a rare "Flat" Hickory Shaft, featuring a unique flat-fronted hosel, shaft and grip design, primarily used to help golfers align their grip correctly.
Made by William Gibson a prominent Scottish clubmaker who founded William Gibson & Co. in Kinghorn, Fife. The head is very rusted and difficult to see any head stamps and markings, however can see the famous Star Cleek Mark, "Medium Lie" and the Pyramid shaped dot punched face, a feature of Gibson putters of this time.
The head is very rusted and slightly loose on the shaft. Shaft and Leather grip in good condition.
