The Spirit of St. Andrews is a seminal golf book written in 1933 by the legendary golf course architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie. The manuscript was famously "lost" for over 60 years after his death in 1934, until it was rediscovered in a desk drawer by his step-grandson, Raymund M. Haddock (Ray Haddock), and finally published and released just ahead of the 1995 Open Championship at St. Andrews.
